Keep Healthy Snacks Around You

Healthy Snacks
Snacks for one day in the office
We all have bad habits and it is time to kick at least one of them: Sweets, chocolates, crisps, carbonated drinks, processed or fast food. Your sugar craving can be curbed with fruit, fruit juice or a healthy snack.

Break the habit today and have healthy snacks around you all the time. Do not buy or keep any unhealthy snacks as that will lead to temptation.

Healthy Snacks to take to work with you every day
You should be working out daily and so your three meals a day probably do not cut it. It is fine to snack on healthy food all day as there is no need to starve your body to get the gains that you want. Plan your snacks and take the following with you to work each day:
  • At least three different fruits
  • Mixed nuts & seeds. Put a small amount into a bag or tupperware
  • Dried fruits or Berries. Put a small amount into a bag or tupperware
  • Fresh home made fruit juice. Pre make one weeks worth and store them all in old drink bottles you have saved
  • A whole or part of a raw vegetable
  • Hard boiled egg or  cooked chicken (optional if you are looking to build muscle)
Please be aware that you should not have more than one fruit drink per day or your fructose intake will be too high.

Sustainability
Reuse a jam jar or tupperware to pack seeds, nuts and dried fruit at home.

Money Saving Tip:
Find a local distributer of nuts and buy in bulk. In Singapore I use Phoon Huat to buy bulk seeds, nuts and dried fruit. I use Super Nature to deliver an organic box of veggies to my home every Monday which I pre-pay for to save some pennies. Every country has a farm that will do a similar service and give you a discount for buying multiple weeks at once.

Nutrition Info
Vary up your snacks through the day and through the week so that you get a nice varied diet.
